On Friday, Year 1 visited the Sea Life Centre. They saw lots of different animals and had a great time learning all about the different sea life.

Last week, Year 3 visited Birmingham Central Mosque. The children learnt about the Muslim faith, daily prayers, the Arabic names of the key features of the mosque as well as how to read a Qur'an from right to left. The children all had a great time.

Thank you to all of the children for their hard work this term. We have had Christmas concerts, Winter sing songs and a Nativity. The children have all worked hard and we hope that they all enjoyed a well deserved rest over the holidays. We are back to school on 6th January 2025

What a brilliant morning at Shaw Hill. We were very lucky to have our annual pantomime in school today. We all watched the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. The children and staff all thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

To celebrate anti-bullying week and odd socks day, children across the school have been designing their own sock puppets. Some children will be lucky enough to create their own sock puppet. We can't wait to show you!

Year 1 had a great morning at Aston Parish Church. We learnt lots of interesting facts from Rev. Fiona about the church and what normally happens when Christians visit a church. We were given time to look around the church and handle pieces that are used in communion.

This week, we have been raising money for the British Legion. The children from the Junior Leadership Team have been helping Mrs Sandhu everyday at playtime to sell poppies. The red poppy is a symbol of both remembrance and hope for a peaceful future.

Today we had a special assembly from Birmingham City Mission. Anna shared a story about sharing and caring. We all thought about how we can share and care with our family and our friends.

Thank you to everyone who attended our Macmillan Coffee Afternoon. It was lovely to share a drink, some cake and great conversation with you all. We have raised lots of money for such a good cause. Thank you!

Year 1 have had a fun morning with our visitors from Little Dots Play Village. The theme was 'Traditional Tales'. The children had to guess the title of the story from a description, listened to a story and also had time to explore the play village. We've had so much fun!

Please join us on Friday 27th September for our Macmillan Coffee Afternoon. We will begin at 2-3pm for parents and carers then 3.15-3.45pm will be a chance to enjoy cakes with your children. All proceeds will be given to 'Macmillan Cancer Support'. We look forward to seeing you.
