Are you a demera sugar in your Irish coffee person? I am. And I'm wondering how much of that is just cos I've seen it from the greats. Is there science behind it? Can anyone tell me why it became the defacto Irish coffee sugar???

@scranmerchant @Bill_Linnane I can't imagine if an Irish person went to Scotland and made scotch 'whiskey' it would go down well. There's just something tribal about words and differences that I think should be respected.

@Bill_Linnane Honestly it read to me as disrespectful of our whiskey culture. And while I loved the notion of the terroir in whiskey I just hated that it came with a bulldoze over where it came from.
