The statement below is entirely incorrect. In 2006/7 The Open Society funded ISB (for work on financial inclusion) - where I was an assistant professor teaching & researching on the topic. No money comes directly to any faculty member. 18 years later, I joined the EAC-PM. I have.

During field visit today, met a man who has been spending Rs.2500 per day on son’s treatment for TB (day 9). His monthly income is Rs.8000. Lack of awareness is a big obstacle in rural healthcare. Did you know that treatment for TB is free at ALL government hospitals, CHCs, PHCs?.

Sorry Kiran, this makes no sense. Maharashtra has infection prevalence rate (by testing)of 11% (highest by far) & it’s only been increasing over time! So they are way behind in testing compared to all other states, they need to test MUCH more! I’m wondering what @WHO has in mind.
