I'm rolling out a significant change to Sery_Bot on Twitch.
For years now, Sery_Bot would kick in and start banning follow bots immediately. This is highly disruptive to the streamer and mods.
Soon, Sery_Bot will continue to quietly remove the follows, but will not ban them.

If you get follow botted, please don't raid at the end of your stream, whether a /raid or a "manual raid" (having people open the new person's chat and "raiding" manually).
Follow bots have been targeting the people you raid into. We tested this tonight, it's definitely real.

In the past hour or so alone, my bot has issued 8000 reactive bans to hoss variants.
I can ban 100 of those every 30 seconds. The rest go into a queue to keep processing in increments.
That's 40 minutes.
With verification? Those would be squashed in one minute.

A small example... I'm watching a streamer get thousands of follow bots right this second.
They're able to continue streaming with no interruption whatsoever. Sery_Bot's removing the follow bots in the background, quietly. This is good.

There's been an increase in spam links on Twitch. In many recent cases, Twitch's automod is picking them up so Sery_Bot won't see it.
So if you're wondering why Sery_Bot isn't banning them, that's why. Automod beat me to it.

We've come a long way in one month.
I went from 80 streamers to nearly 27k.
Nearly 75k bans issued to hateful accounts.
The bot is verified, but the work doesn't stop here.

Twitch will be adding limits on how many channels an account can join at a single time through IRC or API, unless they're modded or authorized.
What this means? Lurker bots will soon be much harder to operate. I see that as a good thing.

It is not necessary to ban follow bots. Banning does not remove the follow, but blocking does. Sery_Bot will silently remove them for you.
No other changes are being made. If a bot ends up chatting in your stream, or a hate raid occurs, they'll still be banned per usual.
