If you’ve been in therapy for a while and you’re still really struggling don’t forget that the system we live in keeps us overworked, underpaid, without enough time for rest, leisure, or balance. This system preaches mental health while running people over for profit and power. How can we heal in that? #mentalhealth #anxiety #stress #burnout

Crying is NOT a weakness and holding your emotions in is NOT a strength. Crying is honest, vulnerable, and necessary. It’s vulnerable and it takes immense strength to do so. Don‘t let this twisted society tell you otherwise.

Even the most patient people have a breaking point. No amount of empathy, mediation and therapy can keep our emotions from reaching their limit at sown point #toxicrelationships #mentalhealth #situationships #narcissist

Learn to have low expectations AND high standards. This means don’t expect much from people and their behavior AND know what you deserve and don’t settle for less. This way we can be forgiving and not take things personally while not getting stuck in patterns that don’t work for us. #relationship #expectations #mentalhealth #situationship

Every time you become aware of tension in your body and you try to release or soothe it, you’re practicing self-regulation. The more you do this, the more relaxation will become available to you and you will notice a reduction in somatic dissociation #Trauma #Therapist #anxiety #mindbody

Let’s stop seeing the world in black and white, red flags and green flags. The truth is life is full of colors, nuances, and imperfect humans and when we are quick to categorize we miss the rainbow #redflag #relationship #toxic

Life hardly ever goes like we expect it to. If we hold on to our expectations without opening up to the possibility of change we may miss out on life itself #tipfromatherapist #TherapistsConnect #Therapist #mentalhealth #expectations

Sometimes we have to make a decision to walk away from someone we love because we are realizing that we are worthy and capable of more love, respect, patience, and compromise. #relationships #love #boundaries

Since connection is a biological necessity, feeling isolated or even the perception of isolation can lead to a dysregulated nervous system. Keeping our fight/flight/freeze response activated which can impact our mental and physical health #Trauma #therapy #loneliness #lonely
