We could do instead with two things: the first being informed, accurate & calm reporting, which recognises that the responsibility for the CofE is everyone's, not just Archbishops (or even Anglicans). The second is recognising that the Church isn't rudderless in interregnum.
Times leader says CNC process to find Archbishop with "a blameless past* and a vision for the future" must be accelerated. "Without a powerful new leader, an institution so damaged may be doomed to crumble further." *insert theological note here
