I agree — or as Clayton Christensen refers to them in his book, “fixed fee” providers. We’re doing this at Clinikk in India with the added constraint of huge variation in provider quality, irrespective of qualification. Would love to share with you about the concept of “Training Health System.”

You think building cool new healthcare powered by AI is going to be app-based longevity assistants for patients... but most of it is building unglamorous Ops tech that no one else has built or built cheap enough for you to bring mass-market.

👨🏽‍⚕️The skills and expertise expected of a 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚 are significant—if you go by the requirements stated in their 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭-𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐬. I made an interactive app using some AI tools that let's you explore the procedures and conditions mandated by the National Medical Council (NMC) and National Board of Examinations (NBE) in their MD/DNB curriculums.

There’s a parallel with an answer @finkd gave in the early days of Facebook when asked why won’t Facebook get trounced by a more powerful, better resourced competitor? The answer (same as my hope in healthcare) - the scrappy, agile, disruptor system is getting more leverage than ever to do much more with the same set of resources. And since people pay for accountability (not just outcomes) in healthcare, there will be humans to take the fall and capture the benefit.
