In north east Scotland but Ulstercentric in outlook. Former Comber man inclined towards books, Ulster-Scots, GAWA and assorted slabbering and pedantry.

Quite like the look of Justin Devanney from what I've seen so far. Potentially a big international future ahead for him with Northern Ireland.

Even the reading of the basic metaphor at the opening of this article is weak; it's forced and assertive to create the ideological smoking gun, then immediately undercut in the next paragraph. It's a shame, really, that Shakespeare Studies is in this state.

I find FA Cup final day is more enjoyable if it doesn't involve Liverpool.

"The Wren, The Wren", by Anne Enright. I persevered, but found it a rather inconsequential and underwhelming novel. Quite safe and derivative, really. Perhaps one of those writers overrated on account of the "Irish Writer" branding?

Whilst re-visiting Longley's poems I came across this re-telling of a grisly 1798 anecdote from Antrim recorded by A.T.Q. Stewart. Just one syllable written in Ulster-Scots is enough on this occasion.
