SHA received grant funding from @CityofSeattle for feasibility studies and potential installation projects to decarbonize water heaters at various affordable housing sites in Seattle.
The Office of Sustainability & Environment just announced $3.5 million in funding through Seattle’s new Building Decarbonization Grants 📢 The funding will help eight under-resourced buildings afford retrofits and technical analyses to help comply with Seattle’s Building Emissions Performance Standard (BEPS) clean energy targets 🌆 Learn more about the grantees on OSE’s website🔗 Under BEPS, Seattle’s largest existing buildings are working to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 or earlier. Gov. Jay Inslee announced the energy credit at SHA’s new building Sawara, which is part of Seattle City Light’s Exemplary Buildings Program for energy-efficient, healthy and durable housing. SHA resident Moxie and most of SHA's other 19,000 households are eligible for the credit.
