Golf on links—originally the Durham & Yorkshire Golf Club—has always been central to Seaton Carew, with its industrial backdrop emerging later. Renamed Seaton Carew Golf Club in 1887, Dr. Alister MacKenzie redesigned the course in 1924, shaping much of what we enjoy today.

A generous gimme keeps the round moving at a steady pace, reflecting the enjoyment MacKenzie valued in his designs. Engagement was central to his philosophy, which is why many of his courses, including ours, feature bold, undulating greens where the game is often won or lost.
