The Common Travel Area wasn't "granted" to Ireland. It was a mutual decision between the Irish and British governments to benefit both islands. There are over 100,000 Brits living happily in Ireland.

Russia signed an agreement in 1994 to respect Ukraine's sovereignty in return for Ukraine giving up its nuclear weapons. Russia broke that agreement in 2014 and again in 2022

I think because Ireland was so visually homogeneous for such a long time, some people have this preconceived notion that in order to be Irish - you have to be pasty white faced, with red hair and a pig under one arm. The concept of being Irish is much wider than that though.
