The gov favours a "growth" model that tries to coax large multinationals rather than supporting small, medium enterprise and socially trading orgs Guess which has greater, more positive impact on your local economies? (Spoilers: it's not the one often owned by private equity!)
The UK could lose up to 9000 pubs. From April, pubs with a rateable value of £100,000, will see business rates jump by £19,000 per year. They will need to sell an additional: 60,000 pints a year. Thats 1200 pints a week. Thats 170 extra pints a day. Thats before rising energy bills, wages and other costs.

And where does this agreement stipulate where profits are to be derived from? Private sector provision within foundational economy goods and services has always been a historical failure, where the private sector drives their profits from squeezing workers or/and service users..
