not everything is about pronouns and genders... Kris is androgynous so that the player can insert themselves into Kris' story. Similar to how Link is androgynous because he was intended to LINK the player to the story. Kris uses neutral pronouns to accommodate the player.
If Kris isnt non-binary, then what gender are they? Go on. Tell me where the game gives any proof of a gender for Kris. Pronouns are a good start. Unfortunately, everyone uses they/them for Kris.
