SPD would like to thank the over 300 volunteers who helped search for Sister Angela today. While ultimately we did not locate her, it was certainly a very strong showing of community support for her and for her family. We will continue with our efforts to locate her.

Overnight a Scranton Police Officer was involved in a shooting. he Officer and suspect are being treated at a local trauma center.
There is an active criminal investigation at this time. The Scranton Police Department will release additional information at the appropriate time.

It is with great sadness The Scranton Police Department announces that on Wednesday July 25, 2018 retired police K9 Ecko passed away after a brief illness. K9 Ecko was trained in narcotic detection and tracking. K9 Ecko was an asset to SPD and the City of Scranton.
