34 today. Seems I survived another trip around the sun. Life’s hard, but I’m grateful to be living it. I improved a lot this year philosophically, physically, mentally, and remembered why I write:

•Enjoyment
•To reduce suffering in the reader and myself

Uh…I received an email from someone I’ve been compulsively refreshing my inbox for, and while it’s not surefire, it could be, and I should just be cool about it, but the potential for something awesome happening has exponentially grown. Is this ‘vague tweet’ enough for everyone?

There’s an insanely attractive gal who’s been in the office twice this week. We got to talking books/writing, and she asked for a signed copy next time I saw her.
It’s busy this time of year, so on the last page I wrote her a note and left my number. “Whatever happens, happens.”

I’d be hard-pressed to name my top 3 horror collections, but gun to my head, this would definitely be one of them.
Every story pulls at my guts and heart, and this is the one that made me try my own hand at horror fiction around 6 years ago.

Earlier, a kid came in for an appointment. Our EHR is antiquated, and only allows patients to choose “male, female, or unknown.” Kid’s dad turned to them, “I know you’re non-binary, but what would you like here?” Kid hid their face behind their arm, “I’m a shroud. I am unknown.”
