@davidhogg111 The collision happened on the south side of the airport, the tower's on the north side, on the other side of the terminal, so unlikely a ground controller could've prevented the collision, let alone see it. Wait for the investigation.

Experience is important, but the fallacy is tying experience with age. Had my 1st flight lesson at 13. I'm pretty confident my aviation knowledge exceeds yours, despite being 30 years younger. Your statement is one made by someone made inflexible by age.

US airlines had gone 16 years without fatal crashes. Then MAGA fired the FAA chief, gutted the Aviation Security Advisory Committee, and threatened air traffic controllers with layoffs. Now there have been two fatal crashes. Hope your unvetted 22-year-olds fix things fast.
