The Right Honourable Lord Beckett has become the new Chair of the Scottish Sentencing Council. He replaces Lady Dorrian KC who has retired after nearly nine years as Chair of the Council and Lord Justice Clerk. Read more ➡️

The Right Honourable Lord Beckett has been appointed as Lord Justice Clerk and will, by virtue of office, become Chair of the Scottish Sentencing Council
His Majesty the King has appointed the Right Honourable Lord Beckett as Lord Justice Clerk. Lord Beckett will succeed the Right Honorable Lady Dorrian as Scotland’s second most senior judge.
