The Bulls could have traded Andre Drummond to the 76ers at the deadline for three second-round picks.
They decided not to and remained "competitive." Now, Drummond goes to Philly and the Bulls end up with nothing.
Just some crazy mismanagement by this front office.
Bears draft Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze
Sky draft Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso
Cubs have the best farm system in baseball
Blackhawks have Connor Bedard
Welcome to the Chicago Sports Renaissance!
- Coby White misses first month
- Patrick Williams misses 65 gms
- Every player enters protocols (minus pickup Tristan Thompson).
- Lonzo Ball done for season
- Caruso plays just 41 gms
- Caruso concussion in Game 4
- LaVine protocols before Game 5
I can't believe that luck.
The Chicago Bulls' last two player trades:
- Lauri Markkanen for a lottery-protected Portland pick (which has yet to convey and might not) and Derrick Jones Jr. (who just played in the Finals for a different team)
- Alex Caruso for Josh Giddey
These were also 34 months apart.
Bulls fans are going to remember that DeMar DeRozan game for the rest of their life.
He attacked a DPOY and 2x MVP like it was nothing to tie that series. No matter what happens next, that's now an iconic Bulls playoff performance.
The last time the Chicago Bulls were 6-1 the starting lineup was ...
Derrick Rose
Rip Hamilton
Luol Deng
Carlos Boozer
Joakim Noah
(Aka: 2011-12 season)
If the Bulls truly want a new starting C, Myles Turner makes a lot of sense, right?
An elite shot-blocker, a 34.9% career 3-point shooter, an improving rebounder, and only 26 years old. I totally get the Gobert interest, but Turner feels like the more cost-effective target.
Ayo Dosunmu had the length and lateral speed to be a solid defender, but I can’t believe he is this good this fast.
His on-ball D has been absurd. He’s hung with some of the best scorers in the league. Always moves his feet. Great timing on the contest.
Special stuff ⬇️
DeMar DeRozan’s last 7 games:
31pts
45pts
38pts
36pts
35pts
38pts
40pts
Not only playing some of the best basketball of his career, but playing some of the best basketball in the NBA.
He’s a true MVP candidate, and it’s been truly special to watch.
Nikola Vucevic: Career-high 82 games
Patrick Williams: Career-high 82 games
Coby White: Career-high 74 games
Alex Caruso: Career-high 67 games
Zach LaVine: Ties second-most games of his career with 77
As rough as this year was, props to these guys for staying on the court.
Short Alex Caruso thread.
It’s hard to describe just how good he was across the court in Game 2. The defense (per usual) was tremendous. Ridiculously good hands and insane awareness to draw those charges.
Simply one of the smartest and most precise defenders in the NBA.
The transition and fastbreak combo of Lonzo Ball and Zach LaVine is becoming truly lethal.
LaVine’s speed and athleticism mixed with Ball’s natural instinct to keep his eyes up the floor creates such easy buckets.
Easy to see why Lonzo was on the Bulls radar for so long.
Warriors
Clippers
Lakers
Blazers
Nuggets
The Chicago Bulls just walked out of that five-game road trip 3-2. Oh, and they did it without their All-Star center.
For those still questioning whether this team was legit, this gave you an answer.
Players currently averaging at least 12pts, 5ast, 5reb, 1blk:
Giannis Antetokounmpo
LeBron James
LONZO BALL
The Bulls' point guard has been one of the most well-rounded players in the game this season.
If LaVine leaves, he leaves.
But to use the idea that he's mad about being second fiddle to DeRozan as an explanation for why he would try to go to the Lakers is flat-out hilarious.
"I'm the true No. 1! LeBron and AD know that!"
Just ... lol
Wow, this is outstanding.
The on-court stuff has of course been next level, but this is a representation of all the little things that make the DeRozan signing so important for the franchise.
Bulls got a top-tier teammate and leader.
Bulls Current Roster

Lonzo Ball
Zach LaVine
DeMar DeRozan
Patrick Williams
Nikola Vucevic

Bulls have 2 roster spots open and 1 two-way. AKME must strike PF next, but what a revamp.
Two things can be true ...
(1) Torrey Craig and Jevon Carter are both smart signings that fill areas of need.
(2) The Bulls have had an underwhelming offseason that appears to be doubling down on a nucleus that has limited potential.
This Bulls team has to show up in Round 1.
DeRozan & White fight for the rebound. White dives on the floor. LaVine’s eyes are up the court. DJJ sprints out in transition. DeRozan hustles in case he can’t convert.
Extra effort + elite athleticism can lead to great things.
No one in the NBA this season has a better story than DeMar DeRozan.
Thought of as part his prime and not worth an $85 million deal (3-year), he is the 6th-leading scorer and top 4th-quarter bucket-getter.
DeMar is the reason the Bulls will enter 2022 as the East's top seed.
Last night: Ayo Dosunmu has two crucial turnovers in OT loss to Raptors
Tonight: Ayo Dosunmu hits the dagger dunk with 16.3 left in win over Pacers
Finished with 15pts and career-high 14sts
What a bounceback. This guy is doing special stuff. Easily the steal of the draft.
Zach LaVine: 23pts (8-12 FG)
Lonzo Ball: 21pts (7-10 3PT)
DeMar DeRozan: 17pts (+20)
Nikola Vucevic: 18pts (8-14 FG)
Alex Caruso: 16pts (6 STL)
The Chicago Bulls have so many ways to attack you. Putting the league on notice as they move to 8-3.
Quick Patrick Williams 🧵
Pat's best game of the season came thanks to two things: Physicality and decisiveness.
Had a quick trigger in his midrange spots and didn't hesitate to put a shoulder down to get to the rim. Loved his finish through O'Neal and drive past Watanabe.
Before Aaron Gordon dunks tomorrow night, I want all the lights to shut off in the United Center. Then, a spotlight drops on a man standing in the tunnel with his head down.
The man slowly looks up. It's Zach LaVine. Gordon cries. LaVine dunks over a crying Gordon. 3x Champ.
The one thing the Bulls' new front office had going for them was that they picked a direction. They said winning was the goal.
Two trade deadlines and one free agency later, they have only Drummond, Dragic, and two months of Tristan Thompson to show for.
There is no goal.
The NBA's current Top-10 leading scorers:
PG (28.9)
KD (28.3)
Giannis (27.4)
DEROZAN (27.0)
Morant (27.0)
J Brown (26.9)
Steph (26.7)
LAVINE (25.8)
Jokic (25.1)
AD (25.0)
*The Chicago Bulls are the only team to have two players make the cut so far. What a lethal duo 👀
One passive-aggressive comment to define Chicago teams:
Bulls: "I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed."
Cubs: "You're just taking your time."
Sox: "I love how hard you try."
Hawks: "Hey, you had some great years."
Bears: "I just thought things would be a bit different."
The Chicago Bulls have a ways to go, but tonight gave me such an optimistic feeling.
People don’t realize just how big this franchise is when they’re good.
Chicago is a basketball city, and we could finally be on the brink of getting that unmatched atmosphere back.
Ayo Dosunmu has averaged 39.2 minutes over the last five games.
As great as the rookie has been this season, and as much as I love to watch him, the Bulls shouldn't have to ask that much of him. Just goes to show how bad this injury trouble has been.
An NBA return with the Bulls: 👎
An NBA return without the Bulls that allows Karnisovas and Eversley to start making more changes and potentially start a coaching search: 👍
I have nothing but love and respect for Kevin Durant. But too many ruled the Warriors out when he left
They won before him. They’ve now won after him. Truly legendary stuff.
Last 4 games for the East's Top-6:
Bulls: 3-1
Heat: 1-3
76ers: 3-1
Bucks: 2-2
Cavs: 2-2
Nets: 0-4
While the Bulls were in a vulnerable place after those Jan. losses, teams below have struggled to take advantage. Tight race, but big for the Bulls to still sit alone at the top.
The Bulls shot 59.1% from the field and 53.8% from downtown ... and lost.
How?
Gave up 19 points off 14 turnovers. Lost free-throw battle 24-6. That'll do it.
Opening night of Final GarPax Year (2019-20):
Sato
LaVine
Porter
Markkanen
Wendell
Opening night of second AKME Year (Projected)
Ball
LaVine
DeRozan
Williams
Vucevic
What a turnaround.
This is the version of Coby White the Bulls front office expected. Add in his improved effort on the defensive end, and he is becoming such a scary option off the bench.
If he and Ayo keep up their level of play, Bulls are going to feel so deep when Caruso/Javonte come back.
If the Chicago Bulls front office trades Zach LaVine for win-now pieces to push for the playoffs around a 34-year-old ...
I might have to go off the grid and become a monk.
Zach's contract is going to start looking better and better as guys like Kyrie ($42M AAV), VanVleet ($43.3M AAV), Grant ($32M AAV) keep signing at big numbers
Billy Donovan coached Durant, Westbrook, PG, Paul, Beal, and Noah.
Billy Donovan has made the playoffs each season in the NBA.
Billy Donovan has a 60.8 W/L% in the NBA and had a 70.9 W/L% in the NCAA.
Billy Donovan was the NBCA COY.
Billy Donovan is an outstanding hire.
The Bulls wanted to play faster – they are 30th in PACE
The Bulls wanted the ball to stick less – they are 30th in AST%
The Bulls wanted to live in the paint – they are 27th in Restricted Area FG%
The Bulls wanted to shoot more FTs – they are 26th in FTAs
What. A. Disaster.
