@Fred_A_Perras To answer the last part, I am not sure. When you also factor in the arbitrary choices of right- vs. left-handed coordinate systems, signs of Larmor and rf frequencies, and active vs. passive rotations, it all becomes quite a mess. We are working on it (with Fred!)

Jean Jeneer proposed 2D NMR in Sep. 1971. This is a nice video I was sent of him receiving the Otto Stern award in April 2023 (he passed away in June 2023 at 91). I was fortunate to meet him at the Waterloo NMR School when I was an undergrad.
