IMO, automatic-ness of 🇺🇸 using the term "shared values" in 🇮🇳's context is anyway exaggerated. The term holds strategic cachet, because it projects India as a partner against 🇨🇳. Its usage has been paired w. "common interests/ challenges" & focal "values" keep changing w. time.
Biden admin may think twice the next time it wants to say the US and India have “shared values.” I think they’ll still say it, but it won’t be automatic.
