Message from Russell:
"I’m beyond excited to be back on my favourite show"
“But we’re time-travelling too fast, there’s a whole series of Jodie Whittaker’s brilliant Doctor for me to enjoy, with my friend and hero Chris Chibnall at the helm – I’m still a viewer for now"
I am absolutely delighted that after an absence of 12 years Doctor Who Confidential is regenerating into a new format! The worst kept secret but it's called Doctor Who: Unleashed with Steffan Powell. Thank you to Russell T Davies and Steven Moffatt for the support over the years.
Tune in to Doctor Who on BBC One tomorrow... 18:45pm.... Yes there's a new ep but also something new has been slotted in more recently. A little treat.
Happy New Year!
Hello faithful viewer. Just an update. I have been in touch with RTD's people about Doctor Who Confidential. He's extremely busy at the moment so be patient (If/When) we get a reply we shall provide an update on this twitter account.
Elisabeth Sladen was so pleased
@russelldavies63
created The Sarah Jane Adventures. He had so much belief that it would work. Here's Lis to tell you more:

100 years of the BBC. If you think Doctor Who will be all over that you'd be absolutely right. Some specials and.... extras.... will be announced in good time.
It is indeed Sarah Jane day! 9 years ago today we lost the wonderful Lis Sladen. She was cool, clever, professional and she created a much loved character that not even the TARDIS could keep away from. Thank you Elisabeth and here is a whole day just for you.
#FarewellSarahJane
So the news has gone down well I see 😁
The return of
@russelldavies63
The return of
@bbcthree
and having spoken to Russell he's supportive of Confidential coming back "Bring Confidential back!"
Time will tell.

Russell T Davies, Showrunner adds:
“From Day One in this job, I wanted Doctor Who back on Christmas Day! And with Ncuti, Millie, Davina and the Goblin King, I hope it’s a feast for all the family!”
Russell T Davies managed to produce 4 series of Doctor Who straight and then Specials for the final year. It was hugely successful. The Doctor bumbles from place to place - viewers need momentum and a pace. The universe doesn't take a gap year every now and then.
We've not heard anything about Confidential yet because they'll still hiring a Doctor.
But there are "insider whispers" about the show.
We'll keep you posted.
The most amazing thing about last night was
@karengillan
saying "I can't believe I was in Doctor Who" She so was. She was so much fun on Confidential too.
The Doctor returns this Friday for Children In Need. Join Unleashed on
@BBCiPlayer
straight after as David steps into his somewhat familiar converse. Allons-y!

Vincent lying down crying in his bed. One of the many sad moments in this episode. It's an enemy of so many people out there. A very real invisible enemy.
#TheUltimateGinger
Seeing a lot of love for Jodie ❤ There's the usually negativity too and sadly it's nothing new for Jodie. Trust me, she's well aware you prefer someone else to play the role. Be kind ❤
@georgiaEtennant
@BBCOne
I've seen it all on iPlayer and I'm sad I've finished it. It's soooo good! It's like eating everything from the fridge in one night and regret kicks in.
#Staged
The Daily Mail are not impressed with Jodie stating she's a bad woman driver. Well... 10 banged into a series of Flats before crashing to the ground, 11 lost control and fell out holding onto the edge and 12 forgot how to fly and ended up inside a dinosaur in Victorian London.
To clarify, BBC America had contributed in the same way. Doctor Who is absolutely the BBC's. Russell couldn't stand over something that takes Doctor Who away from the BBC. That would be very bad for everybody involved.
🚨BIG NEWS!!🚨
The Telegraph have revealed that the Disney deal is a 👉co-production deal👈. Not just streaming rights.
RTD will retain creative vision but Disney will give the show vast budgets beyond the BBC’s means, allowing for more cinematic production values & more stars.
So the
@BBCiPlayer
team have said they are keen to know what audiences want to see.
So it's not a no for Doctor Who Confidential they might like to see some people requesting it though so please do if you want it 🤞🤞
Christopher Eccleston says he hasn't watched his series of Doctor Who since it went out in 2005 but he did watch Day of the Doctor and he thought John Hurt's addition to the story greatly improved the original script he was given which included his Doctor.
Work on the RTD2 era begins on Monday in what begins to be a long process of creating essentially a new show to broadcast in late 2023. Tele takes years to plan and make. Hooray!
Both David Tennant and Russell T Davies have stated that losing the Christmas special is a shame.
David asks "Where is it?!" And Russell was saying how Doctor Who brings family together and Christmas is very much about that.
It's actually 12 years next week since
@karengillan
debuted in
@bbcdoctorwho
she played a Soothsayer in Fires of Pompeii. Peter Capaldi starred in this episode also.
We're going to have a little chat with the BBC about perhaps getting the old Confidentials available on iPlayer. We might be totally too late for the tweetalongs for an aftershow but we'll try tweeps!
Before you go
@russelldavies63
why did the TARDIS whoosh up into the air instead of dematerialize? Did he accidentally press the wangmuffler?
#SantasARobot
Looking forward to
#Staged
tonight with
@georgiaEtennant
and David - there's a rumour going around that there's a TARDIS in it?!
You can catch it on
@bbcone
at 10:45pm! Let's support our fellow former Doctor Who actors at this very strange time.
