What a festive treat from North Yorkshire this Boxing Day morning…my favourite type of cloud ‘altocumulus floccus’. They’re sometimes called jellyfish clouds as the virga (rain that doesn’t reach the ground) falling from their base looks like trailing tentacles. 🪼

@sophieraworth The Northern Lights were putting on a good show last night across Scotland but didn’t reach this far south. And it was too cloudy in London to see the night sky. So I think this would have been lights from the ground up rather than sky down.
