“Riyadh has invested large sums into culture to appeal to this rising new generation and cater to an untapped global audience,” said Sarah Elzeini, CEO of Washington-based consultancy SMZ International Group. “It’s clearly a calculated investment.”
As an Arab, whether I agree or not, I am just confused as to the selective justice for the term "Chinese Virus." When the world decided to name the 2012 novel coronavirus "Middle East Respiratory Syndrome, (MERS)" these same voices were absent in defending the Arabs.
I am so bored of media’s colonialism of the Arab world. The region is moving forward but unfortunately news desks are decades behind. It seems that factsheets they are sent are disposed of before read.

Exciting news soon!
“My thought is to not pick your movement in foreign policy based on a political party, but rather lived experiences, history and logic. If you cannot stand by your authenticity in the space you want to be involved, you will do more harm than good."
“The Crown Prince has leaned into a profound level of social, religious and economic progress, all with support of the kingdom’s youth that even the United States thought would take decades for the kingdom to achieve.” Elzeini added.
When we look at the Southern Border, why is it impossible today to find those who understand both angles. Humanitarian effort should be invoked, but not carte blanche over security concerns.
Those who reduce crises to black and white do more harm than good.
And every day, the world will drag you by the hand, yelling, “This is important! And this is important! You need to worry about this! And this!” And each day, it’s up to you to yank your hand back, put it on your heart and say, “No. This is what’s important.

Politics have shown us, if you repetitively refuse to be at a table, you will be on the menu.
It is better to listen and participate, then have a conversation go on without you and that which you are not aware of.

Photo I took in Khan Younis, Gaza. A trip that changed my life forever. It’s incredibly offensive when the media makes false claims about Gaza and Gazans. They are a people pure and patient for how much they endure.
A reflection piece I wrote to bring some light in a time of crisis. “When this pandemic is over, let us understand that the elements of humanity we experienced are more precious than the material world we were consumed in.”

All-around, media truly makes a mockery of the Middle East. Media's angle at large on the region is Orientalist, many times making the region look like a parody of a movie, because that sells.
When will we move past it. I'm tired.
