It's almost as if all lazy humans agreed that instead of *feeling bad* about not doing the work: building society, sustaining complex thought, having hard conversations, containing emotions, being generous, etc., they'd all just make *ideologies* of why it's more moral not to.

Never a limit to freedom of speech, even during an existential war, when an internal population is being educated with propaganda to despise their own country, with possibly dangerous consequences? What should/can be done instead to deal with the immediate danger of fomenting hatred among the young that results in actual violence? I’m truly asking- “what yes” and not just “what no”. There are 2 slippery slopes here, not just one.

Long ago I remarked that it seems the bizarre Hamas ceremonies were exactly this type of nod / homage to their greatest fandom. Childishly cosplaying fringe university culture - who have been childishly cosplaying them - was I think an attempt at a cultural hug. They’ve (most unfortunately for them) bet the farm on this affinity, not realizing how marginal those pierced and kaffiyehed folx are in the scheme of things, and how poor, without uncle Al Thani, and once daddy gets mad enough to cut them off.

Entitled, heavily sponsored, perpetual victims who squander time meant to help them grow, do damage to a community that has tried to help them, and then refuse generous plea deals and will now “find out” - and blame anyone but themselves? I’d call them perfect representatives of the cause they’ve chosen. On brand. 💯, no notes.

Yes. And obviously, possess the emotional stability/chill and the work ethic/honesty to follow ideas through, change one’s own mind, argue cogently against pre-held notions, etc. This means high openness, high conscientiousness, low neuroticism, moderate disagreeableness. Rare and valuable.
