Iโm coming up on 5 years. Honestly, it hasnโt been that hard of a change. Once you push through anxieties around changing and realize people arenโt paying attention to your underwear as long as youโre not showing it off, itโs not so scary.

I think being a good caregiver and being a good little both require tending to each other. Thatโs being a good partner. Being considerate, mindful, listening, doing your best to remember, and knowing that youโll both fall short at times but trying to do better each day.

I think thereโs a difference between being forgetful and irresponsible. Like if someone isnโt in โgood working orderโ (not meaning theyโre perfect functional), then itโs pretty hard to be a caregiver or frankly a partner. Life happens, and caregivers have tough days too.

I get that feeling sometimes too. I went through a purge cycle for a couple years feeling like that. I try to remind myself that feeling shame is taught. We get to make our own kingdom free from judgement with people who love us for who we are. Babies gotsta stick together ๐ผ

Honestly, as much as that hurts, consider it a gift. I you are confident and chill about what you like, most people can be pretty understanding. The folks who arenโt cool with it are just saving you time to focus on someone who will love you for all of who you are ๐

Compromise is definitely a part of relationships, but you shouldnโt have to give it up completely to be with someone. If it were something like โIโm not comfortable around (Insert whatever)โ thatโs one thing. It doesnโt sound healthy to tell you itโs wrong. That sounds shaming.
