Actually, the poll said an average artists make "less than 35k" annually. 90% of the artists i know are under the poverty line (evne under the poverty line of 3rd world countries... remember this is a worldwide situation, not just USA).

This is exactly what i teach my students on first year of college. There are various types of sketches, and what looks like a sketch for the artist may look like a finished piece for someone that's not considering the amount of work a finished piece takes.
