Officers investigated a series of vehicle burglaries. Some of the victims had their stolen financial cards used illegally. Officers were able to identify a suspect and vehicle through security footage and investigative leads. The suspect was apprehended and booked into jail.

This morning, Sandy Officers pulled over six drivers in just one hour for speeding in school zones. One driver was clocked at 39 mph, while another was going 35 mph—on their second offense. There are no excuses for putting children and crossing guards at risk. #SlowDownSandy!

Catalytic converters contain small amounts of precious metals that are tempting to thieves. Thefts of these devices are happening. Be careful where you park, consider investing in a security alarm and/or converter anti-theft device, and etch your VIN on the converter with paint.

Today we remember Chief William “Bill” O’Neal EOW 1/12/20. Chief O’Neal honorably served the Sandy City Police Department and the Sandy City community from August 1996 until his death in January 2020. Chief O'Neal embodied what it means to protect and serve. We miss you Chief!
