Not making the playoffs accomplishes a lot more than making them:

Luke Hughes is already an amazing defenseman on PP. At 5-on-5, he's been pretty average so far, which is actually good for us. He's still only 20 years old.

Luke Hughes up to 47 points in 37 games for his sophomore szn at Michigan. For reference: Q. Hughes - 33 points in 32 games, Werenski - 36 points in 36 games, Makar - 49 pointsin 41 games. Hutson - 48 points in 37 games.

The Islanders have given up 4 1st round picks (along with other assets) for the grand total of: Romanov, washed Palmeri & Zajac, Bo Horvat, and Pageau.
