Make no mistake. Hank Brennan KNEW that Dr Russell and Richard Green would be allowed to testify. He filed to have those excluded (knowing his argument didn’t meet legal requirements) to make sure that the defense was busy working on these BS motions just to waste their time. Now he has turned over thousands of pages of brand new discovery, and the defense is required to have all evidentiary motions about that discovery done within a week? If you are more worried about the price of Karen Read’s dinner than you are about THIS, you should step back and reevaluate your motivations. Don’t let your hatred for someone or the outside noise and gossip distract you from the injustice happing right in front of us.

This is how shady and unethical Hank Brennan & DA Michael Morrissey’s Office are. For the record: a defendant has NO OBLIGATION to request that the prosecution preserve evidence, no less exculpatory Brady evidence. The Commonwealth, however, does have an obligation to preserve and promptly produce ALL Brady evidence to the defense in a timely manner. Rule 14 obligated the Commonwealth to turn over the Sallyport footage by August 12, 2022 at the latest. Given they would’ve had this exculpatory evidence in their possession since February 29, 2022 (at the latest), there’s no excuse from them having hidden it from the defense for the past 2.5 years. Why have they? This is what you call gaslighting. This is what you call victim blaming. This is shameful. #KarenReadTrial

To date, Hank Brennan has been paid a total of $147,719 by DA Michael Morrissey’s Office, which is funded by taxpayer dollars. Hank Brennan’s been paid $121,530 so far this year (2025). ADA Adam Lally’s been paid $11,154 so far in 2025. ADA Laura McLaughlin’s been paid $9,154 so far in 2025. Comparatively, ADA’s Lally and McLaughlin—attorneys who work for the DA’s Office, haven’t been paid close to a tenth of what attorney Hank Brennan has been paid during the same time period. As a reminder, ADA Adam Lally was lead counsel for the prosecution in this case before Hank Brennan was brought on. For context, while leading this case, ADA Lally earned approximately $143k in 2023, and $155k in 2024. I think most were under the impression that Hank Brennan’s total contract would cap out at $75,000. The original contract he signed with the DA’s Office is attached below. Interestingly, the contract has an anticipated start date of September 10, 2024, but wasn’t signed until September 23, 2024. Prior to either of these two dates, it appears Hank Brennan received a payment of $26,189 on August 9, 2024. Despite the Norfolk County DA’s Office having approximately 130 employees, Michael Morrissey felt it necessary to expend more taxpayer dollars to hire an outside private defense attorney, because apparently nobody else in his office would prosecute the case. Usually this might be an indicator to the prosecutors office that the case is unethical and shouldn’t be brought forth, or at the very least should be reopened for further investigation before being brought forth. But evidently, this case clearly appears to be personal to Michael Morrissey—pursuit of justice be damned. I’d be curious to see what the DA’s Office has spent in total on the outside expert witnesses that they’ve retained in this case, if it’s a regular practice for the other cases that office tries, and if so, how much is spent on average per case. With some exceptions when more specialized issues arise, it’s not a particularly common practice for the state (prosecution) to retain outside experts as has seemingly become normalized by the Commonwealth in this case. This practice especially stands out when they’ve retained multiple experts to exclusively defend Jen McCabe’s incriminating Google search, while putting their own state accident reconstructionist “expert” Trooper Paul on the stand.
