I was considered a bit of a Cassandra for slowly Brexit prepping then maintaining a store of household stuff over the last three years. In lockdown one I was able to just hunker down in comparable style & help neighbours out. I’m bitter about being right.

We’ve a nurse living above our bar after her landlord kicked her out. Her boyfriend lost his job due to corona. She’s just fractured her leg in 3 places. We haven’t charged them any rent. Now he’s keeping us going while I’m furloughed. Love is love.

I find the demonising of Primark shoppers disturbing. It’s the same as the middle class masses queueing for sourdough or organic meat or paint or coffee. Difference is they’ve been able to do that through most of lockdown.

I am buying the house I’ve lived in for a decade with the help of a huge interest free loan from my landlord. I need a lodger but means I ‘may’ also be able to also pay my bills. Biggest piece of luck I’ve ever had, & after living in 48 places I’ve got a home. How’s that?!
