Not yet over these being withdrawn 😭😭😭😭
As we prepare to say goodbye to the humble #caramac, we couldn't resist a quick dig through our archives. The Caramac was created in 1959 by John Mackintosh & Sons Ltd, who would go on to merge with Rowntrees of York in 1969 to form Rowntree Mackintosh

@paul_bower I'm afraid I don't. I'm ashamed to say i wasn't aware of his work until i started cataloguing the JRRT archive and came across (initially) some wonderful coloured posters for the Architects Revolutionary Council, and then multiple other files and mentions

@graceeredpath If you're interested in the Yorkshire Folk Park that almost was, we have a very interesting file about it at @UoYBorthwick :) I did a talk on it earlier this month and I'm still sad it never came to pass.

Happy Birthday to Annabel Crewe (later Annabel Milnes, Lady Houghton), born OTD in 1814. Thank you for leaving me such a fascinating collection of letters to transcribe and catalogue (and yet more letters turning up hopefully at @WHorsleyPlace 😊)

This is me next week! Ready to lament the Folk Park we ALMOST had
How can we best preserve and present history? Former Lord Mayor of York, John Bowes Morrell, had an imaginative idea: a Folk Park! @UoYBorthwick archivist @Sally_Shearn will tell you all about his plans for a ‘living museum’ in our city. #YorkIdeas
