Massive congratulations to our Headteacher, Andy Smith. Andy has won a Bronze Award for ‘Headteacher of the Year’ in the Pearson
@TeachingAwards
. This puts Andy in the top eight in the whole country - an award the whole school can share in and be proud of.
We know that a number of current and ex-students wish to visit school on Sunday to pay respects to Mr Swindley. The top gate will be open and we ask that any flowers or tributes are placed by the wall, on the grass, outside Pierce Wing (Drama/Music). Thank you.
Mr Swindley's funeral will be held at 9.30 am on Tuesday 8th March, at Beetham Hall Crematorium. His family have asked us to say that all who wish to attend will be made very welcome. The dress code is no black and no ties.
Another beautiful Spring day at Saint Aidan’s. All that’s missing is our wonderful students and staff. Don’t worry - we’ll all be back together again soon. Stay safe!
Many thanks to Millie, Brett, Emily and Lee - our wonderful Head Boy/Girl and Deputies. We know that it wasn't the end to Year 11 that they were expecting or wanted, but that does not take away from their fabulous service over the last ten months. Thanks again, guys!
Goodbye and good luck to our wonderful Class of 2021. You’ve coped brilliantly with everything that has been thrown at you over the last 15 months. Thanks for a wonderful last day. Looking forward to seeing you all at Prom!
Congratulations to netballers Katie Bottomley (Year 8) and Molly Huck (Year 7). Both girls have had two sets of trials & following this they have been chosen to play for Manchester Thunder. This is above county level; the next level from this would be representing England!
At the end of this month, the school says goodbye to Head Groundsman, Stuart Ronson. Stuart has been with us for 25 years and has produced, undoubtedly, the finest school grounds on the Fylde Coast, if not the whole of the county. 1/2
Mr Armfield would like to take this opportunity to thank all students, parents and staff - past and present - for their wonderful comments, memories, gifts and good wishes as he retired today. The golf course beckons!
Saint Aidan's has won the "Best Kept School (Secondary)" Award in this year's Lancashire Best Kept Village competition! Well done to our site and grounds staff and to all the students and staff who help to keep Saint Aidan's looking great.
Congratulations to Megan & Joe, our new Head Girl and Head Boy, as well as Macey and Harrison, their Deputies. Well done too to Ruby, Alice, Megan, Carlota, Sydney, Louie, Alex and Oliver who make up the rest of the new Officer Team.
Lots of smiles this morning as our students got their GCSE results. Well done to all our hard working staff and students who have achieved so much. Well done also to our hard working parents for supporting your children over the last two years.
Good news for our wonderful Year 11 class on 2020. We have spoken with The Village Hotel and the Prom is safe. If everything is OK by 24th June, we will go ahead. If the restrictions are still in place, we'll simply rearrange it for later. We will keep all students (1/2)
It's the last day of "normal" school for most students as we prepare for online learning. We want all our students to enjoy their last day and we know we'll be there for each other over the next few weeks or months.
More information will come out to parents over the next two days by email, as soon as we have it ourselves. Whatever happens we are a strong community of students, staff and parents, and we will get through this together (5/5)
Congratulations to former Saint Aidan's student Harry Rushton. Harry has signed a three-year deal with Australian Rugby League giants Canberra Raiders. We knew you'd go far - and Canberra sure is far! Well done, Harry!
It is another beautiful Spring morning in Preesall. We are really missing you all, Saint Aidan’s family! Stay safe and we’ll all be back together very soon!
Saint Aidan's joins the rest of the nation in mourning the death of Queen Elizabeth II. We will be reflecting on her life of faith and service in our worship today and next week.

Great news for Year 11. Prom is booked for Tuesday, 6th July! So long as all restrictions are lifted at the end of June, we can go ahead and celebrate their five years with us at the Village Hotel in Blackpool. More details next week.
Great news about Jack. He's making progress and, hopefully, will be back on food and starting physio this week. Thank you everyone for your fundraising, kind words and prayers. We cannot wait to have you back with us, Jack.
What better way to end the first half of Sports Day with a team photo of our amazing athletes who achieved so much success at the Fylde Coast Championships?

Time to celebrate with the Class of 2020. Well done each and every one of you. We are so proud of your excellent achievements. Best of luck in the next stage of your educational journey from all of the Saint Aidan’s family. Here come the photos...
Great to see so many smiling faces and even tears of joy / relief as students collected their results this morning. The next exciting stage in your educational journey starts now! We wish all of our ex-students the very best. Some more information and photos to follow.
Brilliant news for Jack. After weeks of being in hopsital (including those traumatic early days in Spain), Jack is on the verge of returning home. We can't wait to have Jack back with us in school. Thanks to all who helped to get him back to the UK.
Many thanks to students from N7 and N8. Here are their contributions for the

Let's hear if for our very own Lois Brooks from Y7.
Lois has won a national song writing competition. She is in London today to sing her winning song. She came top out of 4000 entries.
How amazing is that! Check out Lois's song here.
Great to see so many people at Thornton-Cleveleys Cricket Club for Josh and Evan’s Charity Egg Hunt. This is part of their Archbishop of York award. Money raised split between

We are devastated to hear about Jack’s cardiac arrest whilst on holiday. Here’s hoping that the Saint Aidan’s family can rally round to get him home as soon as possible. Thoughts & prayers for Jack.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to our Non-Uniform Day today. Current total is £708-55. We're going to make a lot of charities very happy next week!
We're really looking forward to welcoming our Year 10 students this week, with Babbage House coming in tomorrow. It's the first step towards getting all our wonderful Saint Aidan's students back together.
Grades at Saint Aidan's were higher than in any previous exam series and even exceeded those from the last two years where schools calculated the grades.
That's all folks. Hope you have enjoyed it as much as we have producing and broadcasting it. Looking forward to seeing some of you when the certificates are collected. Over and out!
Thank you to staff and students who supported our charity event to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis. A cheque for £252 is on its way for a worthy cause.
