The Harmonia Sacra Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the legacy of Joseph Funk, a Southern shaped-note hymnal publisher and singing school instructor. Funk (1778-1862) was the publisher of Harmonia Sacra, a hymnal still in use.

Hello music lovers. Anabaptists are recognizing our 500th anniversary this year and our local Mennonite groups held an event Jan 21. Here is the link to watch the service:

@geoffwriteshere Yes 3 was typical. However, I found an 1826 hymnal yesterday that had 4 parts for most of the tunes! Next time you're here, we should look at this hymnal collection together. I think you'd find it fascinating!

Did a bit of history with the descendants of Joseph Funk this evening! They enjoyed seeing this 1763 Mennonite Treatise by Joseph's grandfather Heinrich.
