My mom missed my first day of school, away establishing the Bahá’í university. I slept in my uniform, waiting. Years passed—she never saw me in my immigration outfit, graduation gown, wedding dress, or maternity gown. Layer upon layer, I’m still waiting.

مامانم اولین روز مدرسه ام کنارم نبود، سفر بود، برای تاسیس دانشگاه بهایی. با کیف و لباسم خوابیدم تا وقتی اومد منو ببینه. سالها گذشت و با هیچ لباس منو ندید؛ لباس مهاجرت، لباس فارغ التحصیلی، لباس عروسی، لباس زایمان…لباس روی لباس منتظرش هستم ! #FreeMahvash
