My lad is a very average grassroots footballer. But he loves footy. 3 times now in the last 3 med-low level tournaments he's played in they've been knocked out buy an academy select team playing a year up. Does my head in.

Any local adults teams need a pair of gloves for the kit bag or a gk who is struggling to get themselves a newer pair of gloves, please let me know as I’m having a clear out and will have some gloves that I have used once or twice I’ll be able to help someone out 👍

For ages I felt like I never missed playing footy. I never understood that thing all the vets would tell you as a kid "play for as long as you can or you will regret it" with a hectic life, thought footy was getting in the way of life. Turns out you need footy to enjoy life

Today was a completely new experience, my lads under 9s team had arranged a silent support and coaching game, we were not allowed to give instruction or advice during playing time, same for the parents. But could clap celebrate etc. Hearing 8yo giving orders and instructions...

Year on year seeing the end of season results, promotions, trophies etc, makes you realise how special we were to win the Macron cup, Reusch Cup, First Div playoff winners, then went on to win the Champions Cup against the team that was promoted to Step 4 in one season.

Absolutely class weekend you know, my lad back into footy scoring his 3rd ever goal on his debut, and his team winning. His rugby team won 3 games in 3 today, and he was top try scorer. Reds won, main rivals losing. Great way to start 2 weeks off work before the kids go back

My last 2 attempts at playing footy have killed me off. Couldn't move. Felt mentally and physically stiff. Brain and body just not communicating. I've started stretching 10mins a morning and 10mins a night feel like a completely different person. Really enjoyed footy last night
