Apple Maps is also doing Trump’s bidding and no longer calls the Gulf of Mexico by its real name.

Rebecca Solnit on the opposition to Trump's authoritarian reach: "Some of the Democrats in office are being amazing, and others in the opposition party are being waffles, milquetoasts, cookies that crumble, and other refined-carbohydrate items. "

"In the long term, institutions really can’t save us; that civil society and mass mobilization are a more potent check on a backsliding democracy in the long term than relying on institutional checks and balances alone." --Professor Erica Chenoweth

I guess Google believes that Trump's word is the law, regardless of what geographers or anyone else says. Googlemaps made it official today.

For years, a favorite hangout for Palestinian intellectuals and many others has been the Educational Bookshop in occupied East Jerusalem. Yesterday, U.S.-backed Israeli occupation forces raided the store, trashed the place, and arrested two of its owners for allegedly “violating public order.”

Here's an interview I did for KPFA news about Trump's plans for the ethnic cleansing in Gaza and other issues. My segment begins at the 14-minute mark.

In case anyone thinks the administration's anti-immigrant policies aren't based on racism, Trump has rescinded asylum policies for people of color fleeing violence and persecution, but has offered it to white South Africans who don't like living under majority rule.

The leaders of both U.S. political parties have no qualms about providing unconditional military aid to a brutal occupation army which murders pregnant women.

Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer has defended Trump's executive order sanctioning those associated with the International Criminal Court for prosecuting members of an allied government for war crimes. Though Netanyahu and Gallant are the first Israelis to ever be indicted by the ICC (out of nearly 70 prosecutions), Schumer insists the ICC somehow has a “bias against Israel.” As long as the Democrats put pro-Trump politicians like Schumer in leadership positions, we cannot pretend we have an opposition party.

Interesting how most of the same Congressional Democrats who are attacking antiwar voters who refused to support Harris in light of Trump’s support for the ethnic cleansing of Gaza had no objections to Biden making possible the massive destruction of that territory that Trump is now using as an excuse for supporting the expulsions.

The revised death toll in Gaza has now climbed to 62,000, the overwhelming majority of whom are civilians. I don't care how you feel about Zionism, one-state vs. two-state, or which historical narrative you subscribe to. There is no excuse, however, to remain silent about the slaughter of civilians by any party--especially if made possible by the policies of your own government.
