STATEMENT FROM SWAPO PARTY ON THE PASSING OF HIS EXCELLENCY COMRADE DR. SAM SHAFIISHUNA NUJOMA, FOUNDING PRESIDENT OF SWAPO PARTY AND OF THE REPUBLIC OF NAMIBIA, LEADER OF THE NAMIBIAN REVOLUTION AND FATHER OF THE NAMIBIAN NATION** SUNDAY, 9 FEBRUARY 2025 *WINDHOEK* It is with heavy hearts that we have learned of the passing of our Dear Founding President and Leader of the Namibian Revolution, His Excellency Cde. Dr. Sam Shafiishuna Nujoma, who passed on on Saturday, 8 February 2025 in Windhoek. Late Dr. Sam Shafiishuna Nujoma dedicated his life to the struggle for freedom and nation building. He gave his life to see it that our motherland Namibia is liberated from the yoke of colonialism and oppression. His unmatched commitment to the wellbeing of our nation and entire humankind will remain engraved in the annals of our history for the current and the future generations. Comrade Dr. Nujoma led the SWAPO Party for 47 solid years. During his leadership, he ensured unity of purpose and action through his mantra “A people united, striving to achieve a common good of all members of the society will always emerge victorious.” His Excellency Late Comrade President Nujoma will always be remembered for his unwavering commitment to a better and prosperous Namibia. As he takes leave into eternity, SWAPO Party is thankful for his selfless dedication and utmost commitment to the wellbeing of Namibia and her people. As we mourn this gallant son of our soil, a true nationalist and Pan-Africanist, an Extra-Ordinary visionary leader and Father of the Namibian Nation, let us re-dedicate ourselves to safeguard the gains of our revolution and ensure that his rich legacy continues to inspire us from generation to generation. Let us accord him the respect and due regard as he takes leave from his earthly commitments. On behalf of SWAPO Party Leadership, the entire rank and file, and indeed on my own behalf, I extend our deepest condolences and sympathy to our Former First Lady, Madam Kovambo Nujoma, the Nujoma and Kondombolo family, the Children, Grand-Children and Great Grand-Children, SWAPO Party, and indeed the entire Namibian Nation for the passing of our Founding President, Leader of the Namibian Revolution and Father of the Namibian Nation, His Excellency Cde.
