The PIAA will be meeting with State Senators on April 24th. It is time for the PIAA to face the problem we have in our state head on and make changes. Fact: only 5 percent of the schools in the state are non boundary schools. That 5 percent wins 60 percent of our state titles.

After 58 yrs, I’m finally taking the Fall off. The playing & coaching days are over. I loved every minute. I will miss the Friday night rush, but not the grind. Best of luck to the coaches & players who will be kicking off a new season today. Time to enjoy life. Coach Cantafio

The PIAA has to do something. 6A, 5A,4A Championships are dominated by non boundary schools. Public schools need to start their own championships . Why can’t we have a Play-off system like New Jersey.

The PIAA All Star Team wins another State Championship. Great effort Harrisburg. St . Joe’s Qb is excellent. The only problem I have is he lives in NJ.

Cross your fingers. On Mon. April 23 rd. a concerned group of State Senators will meet with the PIAA at the State Capital to discuss PIAA issues. Let’s hope for movement in the right direction. I have been pushing for this meeting to take place for 3 months. Hope for the Best.

Unimaginable news to hear today about the passing of Dwayne Haskins. He attended many SVS Sports camps & sessions over the years with big goals beginning at a very young age. It was truly a pleasure to work with him & get to know him. Our prayers are with Dwayne & his family. 🙏

Great meeting today . State Senators and PIAA has a very productive mtg. I was told by the Senators that all coaches must contact their State Reps and tell them you are in support of two divisions for state playoffs. Boundary and Non - Boundary. Do it Now.

Boundary vs Non Boundary. District 10 Administrators and Coaches Survey. 365 took the survey. 354 agreed that non boundary schools have a competitive advantage . 338 are in favor of separate tournaments . I would love to see all districts in the state take this survey.

Boundary vs Non Boundary. In 2013,2014,2015 we had 4 classifications in Pa. for Football . Non Boundary Schools won 9 out of 12 State Championships. In 2016,2017 we had 6 classifications . In 6a,5a,4a , Non Boundary Schools won 5 out of 6 State Championships. Time For Change.

Wolf needs to wake up. This is 100% wrong. Parents need to attend games. This 250 limit means no parents in the stands. That is wrong. Having my parents in the stands was so important to me. My parents attended every game I played. I did not play a game without making eye contact.
Wolfs office REMOVED spectator ban. fans still count towards the 25-250 limit.

I have been saying this for months. We need to separate high school sports into 2 divisions. Boundary vs non boundary. Wake up PIAA. I will keep pushing until we get change.

I have no problem with private schools offering aid to students . Just put them in a division for playoffs with other schools that can do the same.public schools can not advertise in the local paper and can not offer aid to attend. Public vs Public, Private vs Private

Some Facts. If you look at 2016 and 2017 in 5 A and 6 A and 4 A in 2014. Non Boundary have won 5 out of 6 State Championship. The only win for public schools was Pine Richland and it took an All American QB to to get the Win.We need separate divisions.

House Bill 2104. Passed in 1971. We need to get this changed. We are following something passed 47 years ago. Things have changed. Most non boundry schools did not have Football . Power in numbers. The time has come for public schools to do what’s right for Pa.

I have been coaching Qb’s for the past 45 years. I have coached NFL Qb’s , Power 5 Qb’s . I have been very lucky over my years. I’m a little confused with all the ratings that I’m seeing. Who does the ratings. Who determines which Qb is number one and so on. Please explain.

Only a few days away from the PIAA and State Senators meeting to be held on April 24th. As reported in the Pittsburgh Post - Gazette last week just under 70 % of the PIAA boys and girls champions the last 3 years have been teams from non- boundary schools.
