@JDVance Not "illegal". You need to go back to school JD, maybe get a tutor. The legislative branch makes the laws, the judicial branch interprets and enforces the laws, the executive follows and executes the law. That's a judge doing their job in our constitutional based government.

This is against the law. Full stop. Also, this woman is an idiot, that too. It's not an audit. And no "audit" would require accessing data. Funding is determined by Congress. Media needs to get a lot sharper. Somebody hire Acosta.

If we ever get out of this hole, we need some good government reforms. Prohibit any appointee from holding two positions--Vought taking CFPB, Rubio at State taking USAID. And get the requirements for background checks and clearances into law (and independent from the President).
Heads up: The co-author of Project 2025 just issued a directive to halt almost ALL activity out of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Russ Vought, Trump's new budget director and acting CFPB director, just instructed employees to "cease all supervision and examination activity," "cease all stakeholder engagement," pause all pending investigations, not issue any public communications and pause "enforcement actions."
