Hamilton fine with principle of 'cleaning up' language in F1 coverage but on Ben Sulayem's remarks: "I don't like how he's expressed it, saying 'rappers' is very stereotypical. And most rappers are black. That was the wrong choice of words. There's a racial element there.".

Halo saved Roy Nissany's life. That's an accident he was entirely to blame for. The kerb launched Hauger's car into him but equally it's not designed to be hit from that angle because cars shouldn't be forced off the road like that into a braking zone. Race ban merited, I think.

Watch this not only for @lauracwinter's professionalism in producing such an eloquent piece to camera on this topic in the circumstances, but for what she says. Listen, take it seriously, put it in context, act accordingly. It's the very least we can do. F1 often forgets that.

International Womenā€™s Day is difficult for me - five years ago on this day I was attacked & escaped an abusive relationship. I feel a huge duty and pressure to do something & so I was incredibly grateful and moved to be able to say these words on air. Thank you for watching šŸ©·

Saturday track action starting in Bahrain with all the attention off-track, on the Horner situation. Have replied to a few tweets now so thought a standalone thread might be of interest. I've (hopefully) disabled comments as not looking to spark argument or bait for engagement.

Racing rules controversies sadly feel inevitable in F1. Verstappenā€™s defence great for many laps. But no need for the Norris penalty. Verstappen off track and forced Norris off. Just let it go. Not the only odd call. More gravel strips exit of key corners would surely help.

One more. Williams boss and ex-Mercedes man James Vowles on Hamilton's Ferrari move: "Itā€™s the hardest thing to do for every human in the world, to move from where youā€™re comfortable to where youā€™re not. It challenges you and pushes you to the limits, and thatā€™s Lewis all over.".

An #F1 driver on a British topical debate TV show is the ultimate 'stick to sport' defiance. Vettel the self-confessed 'hypocrite' was at his engaging, authentic best on complex issues + confronted his own mental conflict with a charming, honest response:

Three similar offences, three different penalties - but it makes sense this time. Verstappen gets five places because he ignored double-waved yellows. Bottas gets three because he ignored single-waved yellows. Sainz gets nothing because he didn't actually ignore anything.

ā—ļø Max Verstappen has been given a five-place #F1 grid penalty for the #QatarGP for failing to slow for double-waved yellow flags in qualifying. Valtteri Bottas has also been penalised meaning Pierre Gasly will start on the front row ā¤µļø.

I noticed how much positive sentiment Bottas has this year. So I put it to him. VB: "Thatā€™s nice, because Iā€™m happy. Iā€™m sure it reflects to people, you can see from the outside that Iā€™m having a good time. Itā€™s nice if people are happy for me. I definitely feel well supported.".

Sebastian Vettel + Stig Blomqvist + Audi S1 Quattro = a popular combination. Of all the sights and images Iā€™ve seen over the last few days, nothing captures this yearā€™s @RaceOfChampions quite like this. What a moment and what a photograph šŸ‘

I put this to Seb Vettel after the race today. He smiled - hadn't heard about it - and said: "I need to have a look! But itā€™s a great track so letā€™s see.".

You can hate the way the race and title was decided because it got messy and controversial. Look past the specific way it ended and judge the season in its entirety, though, and you canā€™t question the worthiness of @Max33Verstappen as #F1 world champion:

Still a shame that Ayao Komatsuā€™s interest was thwarted by Red Bull activating its option on Tsunoda. Haas ended up clear to pursue Esteban Ocon instead so that team is fine with the outcome but would have given Tsunoda stability, somewhere he was wanted.

Fresh story. F1's not open for entries at the moment and it doesn't look like the FIA has any interest in changing that for now. This is a key hurdle that will stop Andretti's bid progressing unless it can convince F1/FIA to open up:

Every now and again I find myself pondering how ridiculous it would be for Sergio Perez to be out of #F1 next season. The reason tonight was realising that he's one of only two drivers to have a 100% point-scoring record this season. And the other's about to win the title.

Thereā€™s also this unapologetic nonsense from Ferrucci. Deliberate attempt to wreck the other car. Even worse he then gloats about it. Online racing has revealed much of driversā€™ characters in lockdown. Saw a disappointing side of two drivers from Indy yesterday.

Lewis Hamilton was punished for a "simple error". So why wasn't Charles Leclerc at Spa? Here's why. I'm inclined to agree with the logic. But there's a fundamental issue within. It's not about bias or conspiracy, but a lack of stewarding transparency:

Interesting Lewis Hamilton answer on his qualifying struggles and the tyres/car not suiting his natural style. Asked after qualifying here how unique a challenge it's been as one of the more adaptable drivers. He admitted there's a mismatch he finds "really frustrating". [1/2].
