2nd stop on the tour is the Sam Houston statue along I45. Both students and teachers pose at the base of the statue!! Can’t wait to see where this adventure leads to next!

Sam Houston had to evacuate the building due to smoke in our Food Science Lab. Garland Fire Department was called and has given us the ok to resume classes. All students, teachers and staff worked together and handled the situation admirably!!

Today SHMS students donated their time to help the Good Samaritan Food Pantry in Garland this week. Students helped sort and bag foods for families and people in need! Way to go colts!
Flipgrid lesson utilizing our new privacy boards in Ms. Hadsall’s class. Giving students an opportunity to feel more comfortable practicing their speaking skills.
It’s 5:25 PM and Ms. Walker and Mrs. Copp have 32 6th grade students in targeted tutorials learning about conduction, convection and radiation.

Officer Smigielski has organized an after-school Bike Program that allows students to build and repair donated bicycles. This program teaches students about troubleshooting, problem-solving, and teamwork! This year, he added it to the summer camps.
