Bipartisan support of the Myanmar people from the US is ongoing. However, the Trump administration and international governments need to take into account how their business interest are impacting the people and to continue to prioritize the safety of the people and democracy.

She also shared concern on the recent cooperation between the Thai air force and Myanmar air force, when it knows well that the Myanmar air force continues to carry out airstrike on the civilian. #WhatsHappeninginMyanmar

@khinohmar still has hope for the ASEAN as a mechanism to potentially solve the Myanmar Crisis, calling for it to not accept the Myanmar election, more concreate action is much needed.

Death of political prisoners reveled the horrifying reality of prisons and detention centers which needs further investigation. There are over 22,000 political prisoners in Myanmar today. #WhatsHappeninginMyanmar.

Min Aung Lai is now also the head the SSPC (State Security and Peace Commission), the recently established entity. This death Penalty and law of this kind has never been implemented in Myanmar before.

Further limitation/punishment is added, for damaging the ballot/polling station, one can now face up to 20 years in prison, and for those who kill someone during the election dispute, they can face the death penalty.

So who are the voters that they targeted? Advance vote can be given by the head of household if the individual is not in in country at the moment (families of migrant workers, or ppl living overseas). Families of conscripted soldiers are also accounted for.

By default, 1/3 of the seats are given to the military (in uniform), the rest of the number is made up by the civilian representatives. If they reach half, the parliament can be called to session and confirm the new government.

#WhatsHappeninginManmar UEC also changed the party registration requirement, allowing smaller party who aligns with the military Junta to be able to compete and join the government. If this is the case, parliament can be in session.

Many electoral laws have been changed to limit opposition and ensure the victory for the Military Junta. The Union Election Commission announced that 2 election systems will be used, both of which favor the Junta. Manually controlled voting machines will be used.

@khinohmar addressed the upcoming 2-month-long election, which typically happens in one day. In July 2025 alone, the military carried out 23 days of airstrikes, which killed over 3,000 and injured over 5,000 civilians. Forced conscription continues. #WhatsHappeninginMyanmar
