I'll never get why Tomlin fired Arians as OC.
Steelers went
10-6
12-4
9-7
12-4
12-4
They also went to 2 Super Bowls and won one. Yet we kept Matt Canada for almost 3 years.
I miss a defense full of Savage players like this. This was 100% Steelers Football these guys carried on the legacy of Steelers defense. Current guys not so much...
I wish Wiz Khalifa never made the song Black & Yellow. Younger Steeler fans actually think the Steelers colors are Black & Yellow. Listen it's Black & Gold, always has been and always will be.
Unpopular take
Tomlin landed in a perfect situation. He took over a team that basically still had a Super Bowl winning team intact. He had multiple HOF players in their prime. An all time great QB. Great coordinators and assistants in place. He would have never won without that.
Trubisky and other players have confirmed that players are in the huddle arguing about the play calls saying to change the play. But Trubisky isn't allowed to use any audibles
Diontae Johnson needs 86 yards for his first 1,000 yard season. Johnson will be a star for years to come. There's no reason why he couldn't produce for us along the same lines as AB
Steelers are reportedly after the BUCS free agent center Ryan Jensen. If that is the case and we do sign him that would eliminate the need to draft a center.
I don't get how people get pumped to watch the Super Bowl or have parties and go to parties when their team isn't in it. If the Steelers aren't in it, it's just another game to me.
Bills fans don't seem to realize that last year the Steelers defense was missing Bud Dupree, Devin Bush, Vince Williams, Robert Spillane, Stephen Tuitt and Joe Haden. That's a lot of starters missing last year. It's going to be a little bit different this year.
So Trubisky is making $14mil for 2yrs. If you took Watson for 2yrs you'd be paying him $50mil more and you would have lost all the picks. This was a great move by Colbert and the Steelers.
Honestly I don't think Mason had a bad game. He made 1 mistake obviously that int in the end zone. But other than that he wasn't really that bad. He did enough for me that he needs a legit shot at being QB
#1
next year.
It's being said the Steelers couple be trading for Jimmy G. Sending the 49ers a 4th this year and a conditional 4th in 2023. If this is the truth and I doubt it is, it's not that bad of a trade.
It's being said that the Steelers are very interested in Cowboys LB Leighton Vander Esch. The Cowboys want a mid round pick in return. Some are saying that we are very close to making this deal.
Trubisky is a better QB than most realize. Let's be honest most Steeler fans know absolutely nothing about Trubisky. They think he's a shit QB that played for the Bears. Really being in Pittsburgh how many times did you actually watch a Bears game. Maybe twice a year?
I don't get the Kevin Colbert bashing he's been here for 22 seasons as GM. He's brought us 2 Super Bowl wins. He's brought us multiple HOF players. He helped bring you Mike Tomlin. Oh and in those 22 years he has had 1 losing season. Like it or not he's the best GM in the NFL.
What happens if we trade up in the draft to get Willis and Trubisky ends up being a Pro Bowl QB? Did we just waste a first Rd pick on a QB and wasted what ever we had to give away to move up to get said QB? Yes. So wait and see what Trubisky is like this year no 1st Rd QB
Enough excuses. We all Blamed Haley, Fichtner, Canada for not winning us playoff games with good offense. People said the game passed LeBeau by. We blamed Butler now Austin. Bens too old. Kenny isn't good. Guess what there's one constant it's Tomlin blame Tomlin,
#FireTomlin
Teryl Austin needs replaced. I don't know why Tomlin can't hire assistants. It's nothing new. He just can't do it. Cowher had 9 coaches that went on to become head coaches. Go find Tomlins coaching tree. You can't... Some say that means nothing but it really does.
Kevin Greene's son Gavin was invited to Steelers mini camp. Gavin is a LB from DII Mississippi College. He's join by the son of another former Steeler Damani Staley son of Duce Staley. Staley is LB from South Carolina. Both are invited for a try out
I'm not a Tomlin hater. He gave us good years. As a Steelers fan I will forever be grateful for the Championship he won. But it's become too obvious it's time to move on from Mike Tomlin as head coach. It's time to fire Tomlin.
#FireTomlin
This will be the 7th year in a row without a playoff win the longest span since the mid 1960s for the Steelers. This means Tomlin has only had 4 seasons in his 17 year career with a playoff win. It's time to move on from Mike Tomlin the game has passed him by.
Beginning of the year they said we had the hardest schedule in the NFL. A 39 year old Ben was washed up. We were starting a Rookie TE, C and tackle. Tuitt and Alualu go down early. We had zero shot at the playoffs. We're in, now let's do something else they say we can't do.
So the Patriots are ready to move on from Belichick after the season. He won 6 titles for the Pats. Steelers fans can't let go of Tomlin who won 1 title 15 years ago.
Since 1972 the Steelers have made the Playoffs 31 times and won 6 championships. So when someone asks why Steeler fans except to make the Playoffs every year that's why. And yes the Standard is the Standard.
To me there are 6 Steelers who belong in the Hall Of Fame. Ben is the only active.
Andy Russell
LC Greenwood
Hines Ward
James Harrison
Maurkice Pouncey
Ben Roethlisberger
Reports that Steelers and Big Ben could have bad blood. Really it wouldn't shock me. I can see the Steelers basically telling Ben he's done even if he wanted another year. That could do it. They did that with Franco, Webster, Troy, Hines. Hell Bradshaw didn't come back for 25yrs
Last year the Bills played a beat up tired Steelers team missing key players on defense playing 3 games in 11 days. A team without a RB but with the worst Offensive Coordinator in the league. Bills fans are going to get a rude awakening Sunday!
Just had to make the hardest decision of my life. I had to tell the doctors that my father wishes were do not resuscitate. And that he would want to die instead of being hooked to anything. He passed away about 30 minutes later.
I don't know how anyone can say Najee had a bad year in 2021. He was a rookie that ran for 1,200 yards and had 74 catches for 474 yards. I know it was a 17 game season but it was a great rookie season behind a terrible offensive line.
I'm giving Harvin a pass on the bad punts. I can't imagine what's going through the head of 23 year old when he finds out his father has very little time left.
I want Jordan Davis in the 1st Rd. That's who I want. That 6'6" 350LB DT just ran a 4.78 at the combine. That is a freak!! I want that man anchoring our line for the next decade.
It's astonishing to me that Devin Bush said he didn't know the Steelers upcoming opponent. I would think if you were a player who wanted to be a great professional you'd be watching film on them by now. There's a lot more to being a great player than just showing up.
The Steelers have the Raiders on the schedule this year. I hope the NFL was bright enough to schedule it in late December since it will be the 50th Anniversary of the Immaculate Reception.
Today my cousin offered me his tickets to Sundays game. I said no thank you. I watch the games with my dad I have only missed 1 game with him in 33yrs. I would have loved to go to the game but with my Dad's health he wouldn't be able to go. I'd rather watch at home with my Dad.
How many of you are done with hockey once the Penguins are done? I know I am. After the Penguins are done I really don't watch another game. It's not like football for me. I absolutely love football I can watch any game. Hockey I only watch Pens games.
Joe Schobert has restructured his deal to benefit the Steelers. He's only counting as a $1.35 million cap hit. The Jags will pay $3.65 and the remaining $2.36 the Steelers have converted into a signing bonus.
Look Ben isn't holding this team back the line is. I don't care who the QB is hell you could put Mahomes back there and I can guarantee you he's not winning with this line either.
If you had to pick one of these free agents to be the Steelers QB who you taking?
Marcus Mariota
James Winston
Mitch Trubiski
Ryan Fitzpatrick
Tyrod Taylor
Teddy Bridgewater
Andy Dalton
So week 1 the Browns play the Panthers. This means the Browns will be paying Baker almost $600k to beat them... That's some of the most Browns shit I've ever heard....
Let's actually look at Tomlin after his Super Bowl win with Cowhers players.
5 playoff wins in 15 yrs.
3 seasons with a playoff win in 15 yrs.
Hasn't won a playoff game since 2016 the longest playoff win drought for the franchise since the 1960s.
I love people who say there's nothing wrong with the Steelers when you have guys like Joe Greene, Rocky Bleier, Ryan Clark, Jerome Bettis, Hines Ward, Chris Hoke and others saying there's something wrong.
I don't like hearing people say we don't need to add to the d-line. Look Cam is great but he's 33 this yr. Alualu is 35 this yr coming off injury. Tuitt we just don't know what's happening. Their backups are the guys who made us dead last against the run so yes we need D-line
I hate when people compare keeping Tomlin to keeping Noll. Yes they kept Noll too long but Noll built a dynasty from a terrible team won 4 titles they kept him 12 years after his last SB win. Tomlin 1 SB win they kept him 15 yrs after his win and has hasn't built anything
The Steelers are expected to be bringing in former Charger DE/OLB Melvin Ingram for a visit. Ingram is a 32 year old 3 time Pro Bowler who has 49 sacks on his career
Let's assume Louis Riddick was tossing out an actual hint at Pitt today and he knows he's the Steelers next GM. Let's say hypothetically he's named GM would you be happy with him being named Steelers GM?
Steelers D Coordinator Teryl Austin was fired by the Bengals mid season of his 1st yr in Cincy in 2018 for being the 1st defense in NFL history to allow 500yds in 3 consecutive games. With the injuries to our defense and the offenses the next 2 games it might happen again...
I hate to say it well I don't hate it. I believe the best chance for the Steelers to win next year is bring back Ben if he wants to. Has to be a franchise friendly deal. That way you can focus on fixing issues. Then draft a QB next year.
Tunch Ilkin was genuinely a great man. It's hard to find a professional athlete who loved his family, his lord, his community and his team more than Tunch. He will be missed by all of
#SteelerNation
and all who ever had a chance to meet him.
September 23 1957- September 4 2021
What would the Packers want for a Rodgers trade? Two 1st Rd picks? A 1st and a 2nd and something else. What? I'm not okay with giving up major draft capital for a 39yr old QB who might just plays 2 years and retire. It's not worth it at all.
I'll never understand why the Steelers didn't make Heinz Field hold more fans. Could you imagine a stadium that had the capacity of say Beaver Stadium 106k+ could you imagine how loud that would be? It not like we couldn't sell that out.
I still think there's a better chance that Trubisky is your future than any QB in this draft. I would rather we fill other needs than draft a QB in the 1st or 2nd that ends up like Mason and is just a career backup. You have a better shot of that than these rookie QBs being studs
