This isn’t the news we wanted to share today – but the SC Senate has voted to pass #H4624, the anti-trans healthcare bill. We’re sad, angry, and extremely disappointed Senators passed this, prioritizing anti-trans attack over making SC better for all. 1/5

Last week SCOTUS heard oral arguments in US v Skrmetti, a case challenging TN’s gender-affirming care ban for trans youth with other implications for how trans folks are treated under the law. This case will impact care bans in SC & beyond. Read more ⬇️

Right now, South Carolina trans youth are facing attacks in accessing healthcare, bathroom bans in K-12 schools, and more. They need and deserve access to books that represent their experiences. Moves like this are cruel, unnecessary, and help no one.

Today, @ACLU_SC filed a lawsuit against H. 4624, which blocks care for trans youth and restricts care for many trans adults. This law has no place in SC. We’re so thankful for their leadership here and hope to see this discriminatory law struck down soon.
