The main building in Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court will reopen for all court business as normal on Monday 10 February 2025. Court users can access the court building through the door to the right of the normal entrance (as you approach the building) on Whytescauseway.

Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court building will be closed on Friday 7 February, and reopen on Monday 10 February. All criminal business including trials will call in the Sheriff Court Annex building. Accused and witnesses should attend as normal. Civil business will proceed virtually.

SCTS announced the official launch of the Court of Session Case Tracker as part of Civil Online. This represents the first digital service available in the Court of Session and enables 90% of case types to be tracked online.

SCTS has achieved Customer Service Excellence (CSE) re-accreditation in 2024, with our highest results since accreditation began.

Following Storm Éowyn and the weather warnings issued by the Met Office, we conducted inspections across our estate over the weekend to ensure the safety of our buildings. We are pleased to confirm that normal business will resume on Monday, 27 January in all SCTS buildings.

We are planning on normal business resuming on Mon 27 Jan. However, a programme of inspections will take place on all our buildings within the affected storm areas on Sat 25 Jan. An update will be provided as soon as possible thereafter through social media and on our website.

The monthly criminal case throughput figures for October show the number of scheduled trials has reduced by a further 1,055 last month. The workbook has been refreshed to include data on, remand and bail, trial adjournments and sentencing amongst others.
