The 178th Engineer Battalion, 117th Engineer Brigade, SCARNG based out of Rock Hill support debris clearing efforts in Greenville. Sgt. Stephen Winter who lives in Chicago, Illinois was called to state active duty to support to his home state and didn’t hesitate.
Day or night, the South Carolina National Guard is on the job. Engineers dispatched from Rock Hill and Edgefield worked after dark in support of local Greenville County agencies in recovery efforts. The teams have worked together to remove post-storm obstructions on roads.
