This lion pride are usually resident on Kempiana Contractual Park, an area Kruger tourists do not see. This afternoon they were lying on the tar road just outside of Orpen Rest Camp.

Reports were received that a herd of elephant was seen outside Paul Kruger Gate. We appreciate the Air Services and Conservation Management's swift action to lead them back into the park safely. We hope they paid their conservation fees unpo entry😉
Sam is in our thoughts today after losing his best friend and work buddy Benni who couldn’t go on due to a heart failure. This hero has done marvellous brave work with his handler Sam. His contribution to conservation will live on. Thank you for your dedication Benni.
Four suspects were arrested this afternoon. Heavy caliber rifle, ammunition and poaching equipment seized. Good work by Ranger Services, Air-wing Protection Services and Concession partners. We'll done to all 👏👏👏

Recorded by the Ranger, on his way home after patrol this evening, 7km east of Orpen Rest Camp. One of two dominant males in that area. A lion's roar can be heard over 7km away.
BREAKING NEWS:- Pretoriuskop Rangers, with support from K9 & helicopter reaction, today made contact with a group of 3 suspected rhino poachers and managed to arrest two of the suspects. A heavy calibre firearm, ammo & equipment was also recovered in the contact.

A proudly South African aircraft called the Bat Hawk, designed and made in Mpumalanga Nelspruit. Four have been donated by Anglo American Platinum for conservation efforts in KNP. An extra weapon in our arsenal of weapons for wildlife crime.
SANParks today announced the passing of one of its senior managers in the Environmental Crime Investigative Unit (ECI) Mr Kobus De Wet. He was stormed and killed by a hippo while camping in ( KNP) on Saturday 12 August 2023. Executive Management sends out sincere condolences.

in Skukuza camp was clean & fresh after the welcome rain from the previous night. These pics taken from the camp of hippo mom and calf in the Sabie River, which was quite full. I could almost hear the mom saying "stay close and you will be fine".
Today we pay a special tribute to our sky angels, the KNP Airwing team. For your relentless efforts in keeping your eye high up for conservation. May you grow from strength to strength.

South African National Parks today. 25 September 2021 continued to urge visitors to be extra vigilant and to observe the speed limit in the parks after a motorist was arrested in the Kruger National Park last night for having run over a cheetah.
One of nature's greatest masterpiece! Don't we all miss the intimidation by this animal from time to time as we safely escape their great presence with adrenaline still sky high?!

Three suspected rhino poachers were arrested during an early morning anti-poaching operation at Lower Sabie today. A heavy calibre firearm, ammo, and equipment were recovered during the incident. The arrest by Rangers was supported by rapid reaction of the K9 Unit and Air Wing.
UPDATE: The two suspected poachers who were earlier chased down by the aircraft have been arrested.
The incident occurred earlier today where one of our pilots got injured during the chase with the suspects. The mission was clearly not in vain.
