Celebrating a Decade of Transformation with SAFDA I'm honored to be part of the South African Farmers Development Association (@SAFDA_farmers)'s 10-year documentary, highlighting its impact on empowering black farmers and transforming the sugarcane industry. As the then KZN MEC for Economic Development, Tourism, and Environmental Affairs, together, we championed economic transformation and the empowerment of black farmers across the province.

We believe the government’s two-year moratorium on tax increases is insufficient for the industry to diversify and recover. Extending this until 2030 or eliminating it completely is critical for the industry’s long-term survival, ensuring economic stability and job security.
