First we need to know that we don’t have Gvt controlled prices on majority of the goods & services sold. Attracting the businesses & their capitalist owners to maintain the prices as they want. Especially, of the products that are sole distributed by one wholesaler/importer.
When MDP’s 1st gov, led by @MohamedNasheed introduced taxation, they made sure that milk was zero rated and no import duty for milk. 🔹Milk GST = 0% 🔹Milk import duty = 0% So your argument is invalid Milk is getting expensive cause of @MMuizzu’s incompetency. @ayezova

Coast is not something the Government imports. It’s imported by a private company. And they can change the prices as they wish. Just like many other products.
This is the 1st time in Maldivian history price of Coast Milk has crossed 400 MVR. This used to be affordable for the ordinary people. Everyone needs calcium to maintain strong bones and teeth, to prevent osteoporosis and fractures. But now only rich people can afford this👇
