The painting seen across many mainstream media outlets is a beautiful gift from my wife, artist Brooke Wetzel. She had painted it in honor of my late father Don Wetzel Sr. Chief Mountain in the background is significant in our Amskapi Pikuni history.

My grandfather Blackie Wetzel was a very proud tribal leader. In his time he created the greatest professional logo of our time, acted as the Medicine Man in the movie Grey Eagle and was a 3-sport athlete at the University of Montana(Football, Track, Boxing). An American legend.

My late great uncle Earl Barlow shared an amazing story with me of when my grandfather presented the logo to the franchise.
Earl's legacy is one to be told. He is referred to as the founding father of Indian Education. June 2nd is Earl Barlow Day in Montana.
